I ordered this product from the Sportsman Guide. One of the major selling points was the satisfaction guarantee offered by the business. I live in a very windy location in Maine. If the wind is howling, as it usually is when I am clearing the driveway, I have to only blow in one direction or get a face full of spindrift. This cab has made that problem go away and it has sped up the whole process of clearing the driveway.
The shipping was quick and the product was of the quality I was expecting.

I have an old faithful gasoline snow thrower. When a snow is wet and heavy the chute clogs up quickly. This tool is sturdy but light weight. The wide tapered end, about two inches wide, goes a goog job getting in the tight places of the chute. The fact that it comes with a mounting bracket allows it to be kept on board and is super convenient. Don't let the "electric" part of the description confuse you, it works great for gas units and the mounting bracket is a bonus. The unit arrive timely as promised and I'm glad I purchased it every time I use the snow thrower which has been often this year.

First the good news: the product looks nice, works well on powdery snow. Can't throw wet snow. Very heavy to push for me - being an old lady. Pull cord works fine, electric start is bonus but no need really. Fuel capacity ok, I used it 3 times, each time about half hour without exhausting the tank. However now the fuel ine is clogged, maybe my own fault.

Now the bad news. The brand new machine came missing the choke lever! Customer support is NOT the manufacturer, but just a phone center. The customer support web site is not up to date, in fact is erroneous. The agent first told me I had to install the choke level myself. When I told them it required disassambling the unit, then another agent said I must take it to a certified service center. When I did take it to a certified service center, the service mechanic could not get the company to authorize warranty repair. It took us 3 weeks, numerous calls, finally the service center ate the cost and repaired my machine without charge. That is not fair to him! My recommendation: buy your appliances from a local dealer. You get a living human being to be responsible for your purchase.

Warning: the snow blower is NOT returnable to Amazon because it may contain flammable fuel once it has been opened. However Amazon was very responsive by assuring me on the phone that if I cannot get satisfaction form the manufacturer Amazon will work out a refund. I will buy on Amazon anytime, just not appliances!

o far so good. It seems to handle light powdery snowfall without any problems. A couple inches is no problem. It has a harder time with mixed or heavy slush and forget about heavy ice conditions.

The 3 things I've noticed worth mentioning, aside from the obvious for a product like this. The paddles/blades are a plastic that seems 'relatively' heavy duty. After the first use, I've noticed some wear on the blade edges. It looks like it was ground down a bit in a couple spots. That's reasonable if it hit concrete and there wasn't enough height clearance but my driveway is entirely flat. I don't know what did it, but I hope it wasn't the light sheet of ice below the snow. I'll be able to determine that after using it more. In the future, I hope there's an easy way to replace the paddles because this unit doesn't have the typical paddle bolt on replacement system and I don't see it being sold as a part/accessory on their official website. That's not to say that you probably can't contact them directly and purchase replacement parts though.

The 2nd thing is that depending on the angle of the shoot, powdery snow at some angles tend to shoot/leak out the sides of the shoot. The gaps on the shoot tend to change slightly depending on the direction and angle. It could be designed that way, possibly to avoid getting ice freezing up in gaps. I figured out what angles don't leak and simply don't use it at those angles. Not a big deal for me except for the third issue.

The 3rd thing is that snow tends to leak into the battery compartment. As long as it doesn't melt in there, I'm OK. but if it's sunny enough to melt, then I'd have concerns about that. You also need to consider using it during a snowfall to avoid heavy snowfall buildup.Read more

Cons
The wheel doesnt have good traction since its just a plastic wheel, similar to kids toys
Scraper at the bottom would be better steel, again made of plastic
The auger is made of hard rubber - I would love to see real metal auger for this price range
Over a foot of snow your better off getting a gas two stage - this wont cut it

Overall it works great! Saves my back and cuts my job in half. Totally worth price since my driveway cost $100 to plow.
